Dr. Charles I. Silverstein, Ph.D
Dr. Charles I. Silverstein is a highly experienced licensed psychologist with over 50 years of clinical practice, specializing in forensic psychology, disability evaluation, and rehabilitation psychological assessment. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon (1977) and is licensed in California and Hawaii, with prior licensure in North Dakota. Dr. Silverstein is also a Qualified Medical Examiner in California.
Throughout his career, he has worked across a wide range of settings, including state hospitals in Oregon, North Dakota, and California, the California Department of Rehabilitation, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He has also served as a consultant for Sonoma County Child Protective Services and the Marin County Department of Social Services, and contributed to federal work with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Moffett Field.
In addition to his clinical and forensic work, Dr. Silverstein has an extensive academic background, having taught psychology at multiple institutions, including the University of North Dakota, North Dakota State University, Chapman University, United States International University, and Santa Rosa Junior College. He holds a lifetime California Community College Teaching Credential in Psychology.
Dr. Silverstein is a lifetime member of the American Psychological Association and the Hawaii Psychological Association. He continues to be recognized for his depth of expertise and longstanding contributions to the field. He has been married for 40 years, has one son and 2 grandchildren. He resides in both Marin, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii with his family.
